How do I create a video using the desktop platform?

1. How do I start a new video on the desktop platform?

Click the green Create Video button at the top right of any page, then choose Quick Video or Creator Studio.

2. Should I use Quick Video or Creator Studio?

Use Quick Video to record and send fast. Use Creator Studio when you need more than one clip or want to edit.

3. How do I record a Quick Video?

Click Create Video, choose Quick Video, click the red button, then click Next to share.

1. Click Create Video at the top right and choose Quick Video.
2. Before recording, click the gear icon in the lower right of the recording window and check your camera and microphone (see question 5).
3. Pick a Record Mode on the right: Camera Only, Camera + Screen or Screen Only (see question 4).
4. Click the red button in the middle of the window. A 3-2-1 countdown starts.
5. When the countdown ends, smile, look at the camera and hold for a couple of seconds before you talk. This gives you a good thumbnail.
6. Click the red button again to stop. You'll see Generating Preview for a moment.
7. Re-record if you need to. When you're happy, click Next.
8. You go straight to the Share Video screen. Quick Video skips the editing step (see questions 8 and 9).

4. What do the record modes mean?

Pick the mode on the right side of the recording window before you click record.

• Camera Only: records just you.
• Camera + Screen: records you and your screen together.
• Screen Only: records your screen without your camera.

5. How do I choose which camera or microphone to use?

Click the gear icon in the lower right corner of the recording window and select your devices. Check this every time you use an external camera or microphone.

6. How do I record a video in Creator Studio?

Click Create Video, choose Creator Studio, add one or more clips, then click Next: Share Video.

2. Under Add your first clip, pick how to bring video in:
   • Record Clip to use your camera or screen
   • Digital Library to choose existing content
   • Upload to add a file from your computer
3. To record, choose Camera Only, Camera + Screen or Screen Only at the top of the recording area.
4. Click the red button to start, and click it again to stop.
5. Your clip appears under Video Clips. To add more, use Record Clip, Digital Library or Upload under Add another clip. Clear Video removes them all.
6. Once you have at least one clip, you can choose a theme or add music under Video Settings.
7. Set your thumbnail (see question 7), then click Next: Share Video.

7. How do I set my video's thumbnail?

Click Set Thumbnail on the video preview, then choose Static Thumbnail or Moving GIF Thumbnail.

The thumbnail is the first thing people see when they open your message, so pick a frame that looks welcoming.

1. After you stop recording in Creator Studio, click Set Thumbnail at the top right of the preview.
2. Drag the playback slider to the frame you want.
3. Click Static Thumbnail to use that still frame, or Moving GIF Thumbnail to use a short animated clip.
4. Click Cancel to close without changing it.

Tip: after the countdown, smile, look at the camera and hold for a couple of seconds. That gives you an easy frame to use.

8. How do I personalize my video before sending it?

Use the Personalize your Video Message panel on the Share Video screen. Personalize as much as you can.

• Video Title: for example, "Thank you for touring with us, John!"
• Email Subject: personalize this too.
• Message: add a short note to go with the video.
• Commenting: switch it on or off.
• Call to Action (CTA) Button: add one, or leave it set to No CTA Button. CTAs are covered in a separate course.
• Tags: add tags under Send Video to organize your videos.

9. How do I send my video?

On the Share Video screen, publish to get a link, or add recipients and click Publish & Share.
